I reported earlier that Westlife have now left Simon Cowell's record label Syco and have signed with Sony, and now it's been announced that Charlotte Church has walked away from her record company too!
Church has been signed to the label Power Amp Music for the last year, which was apparently worth £2 million. But now the songstress has broken the deal! So why did she leave? Well multiple reports are stating that Charlotte wasn't happy with the label, as they didn't wat her to try and break the US market, but Charlotte definitely does!
A spokesman yesterday explained the situation:
"It was in Charlotte's financial interests to do so before the agreement entered the second year of its term. I can also say that the decision to terminate the term early, which suited both parties, was made well before the commercial release of the album."An insider at the label Power Amp said that the decision was mutual:
"It didn't work out with Charlotte and that's fair enough. There was no falling out. It was a mutual decision. They decided to exit the deal."No word yet on whether the singer will sign with another company. What is going on with the music industry today?
