Wow I'm in shock!
After gushing about his childhood sweetheart Holly Sweeney the last couple of weeks, everyone was shocked last night when Rory McIlroy released a statement saying that he and Holly had split.
The statement read: "Rory McIlroy's long-time relationship with Holly Sweeney came to an amicable end before the (British) Open Championship."
The news broke yesterday after the Golf pro was spotted getting cozy with gorgeous tennis player Caroline Wozniacki. The pair had been sharing flirty Twitter messages during the last three weeks, after meeting at Wimbledon and having a drink together.
Eyebrows were raised last week when the pair publicly flirted on Twitter. Rory (22) sent the gorgeous blonde a cheeky birthday greeting on her 21st birthday last Monday, in which he tweeted: "You're getting old." She replied: "At least now you will be able to buy me a drink in the US".

This isn't the first time that Rory has dumped dancer Holly (20). The pair broke up during Christmas when he decided that he wanted to focus on his career, but revealed that he quickly started to beg her to come back:
"At the start of the year I wanted to focus on my game and just take a break. I realized pretty quickly I had made a huge mistake, and I had to do a lot of begging and grovelling to get her back."It comes as a complete shock that Rory has already moved on with Danish tennis star Caroline. The pictures above were taken in London on Sunday when the pair dined at a lavish restaraunt.
Rory will have to face the music soon as he will travel to Killarney next week for the Irish Open.
