Dame Elizabeth Taylor has died at the age of 79.
Taylor is arguably one of the greatest stars of our time, and she has been quite invincible until now. She had been married to 7 men throughout her life: Conrad Hilton, Michael Wilding, Michael Todd, Eddie Fisher, Richard Burton, John W Warner and Larry Fortensky. To top that off she was constantly dealing with health problems. Her health declined when she fell while filming her first hit film, 'National Velvet', which led to a lifetime of back problems. Then pneumonia almost killed her in 1961 and she also battled addictions to alcohol and painkillers.
In the 1990s, she had two hip replacements and another near-fatal bout of pneumonia and survived surgery for a benign brain tumour in 1997!! Then, her most recent ailment: in 2004, it was revealed that she was suffering from congestive heart failure, with symptoms including fatigue and shortness of breath, and scoliosis, which twisted her spine.
It is believed that she passed away today from this latest health issue. But what a strong woman she has been throughout her life.
